Brooks Betts creates timeless interiors infused with warmth and a simple elegance. Her respect for classic proportions, light and spatial flow is evident in the sense of comfort and harmony present throughout her work.

Experienced in all phases of renovation, Brooks’ focus on the potential of a space allows her to transform existing spaces into interiors that are thoughtful, inviting, and beautiful. A deep understanding of lifestyle, history, art and family treasures infuse personality and authenticity into every project. Her passion for quality and attention to detail are central to every decision.

Drawing from an extensive award-winning career in prestige branding and packaging, Brooks transitioned seamlessly into home renovation and interiors, envisioning her first project as “a bigger box”. Her BFA in sculpture from Boston University School of Fine Arts and a Master’s in painting from New York University inform her wide-ranging aesthetic. As a fine artist, Brooks spent a decade devoted to painting, earning recognition in private collections and corporate spaces. However, she was continually drawn back into the world of residential design, seeking the collaborative synergy of working in renovation and interiors.

A natural talent in interior design and project management, she earned a national award for kitchen redesign with the early renovation of an 18th century half-house in Sag Harbor, New York marking the beginning of a diverse portfolio. Projects range from additions for a Rocky Mountain vacation home, and a complete redesign of a builder’s spec house and property, to a Victorian Queen Anne remodel in Connecticut and a loft-like coastal condo off Long Island Sound, as well as transitional contemporary and mid-century modern co-ops on Sutton and Beekman Place.

A true New Yorker, Brooks is a long-standing supporter of Housing Works “Design on a Dime”, a devoted trustee of Helen Keller International, and a former board member of the now-defunct Women in Design.
